A well fought battle for the Pandas

Writer's picture: Panda PressPanda Press

In a rollercoaster of emotions tonight our Pandas fought like lions running out of steam in the final 15 minutes losing to Lastonets Imperials 42-35.

But what a match! The first quarter ended 10-9 and the second 19-18 with everything to play for going into the third 15 minutes.

And then we rose taking the lead 33-26 into the final quarter. The girls left every inch of stamina on that court but in honesty they ran out of steam and Lastonets took full advantage.

All season our Pandas have gone out and produced performance after performance to be proud of holding their own against the odds - in just one half of the season this team have fielded five goal attacks and numerous other changes to combat injury and absences.

To remain at the top of the table is an incredible feat under the circumstances and we still have a slim chance of promotion - it's in the lap of the gods.

Every player was outstanding for the club tonight but mention must go to Lastonet's player of the night our Emily Enterman who has been so versatile and brilliant for the team.

Sarah Medlin's nod went to Jackie Walker and Bryony Marie both stepping up and making a tremendous contribution for the team.

Well done girls - you have made us all proud this season and it's time for you to enjoy your well earned rest and we hope to see you back in full force next season.
