Whatever is asked our Pandas rise to the occasion - playing out of position with no subs on the bench is pressure enough but tonight they dug deep never letting the pedal off but fighting to the final whistle to secure a 52-39 victory over St Agnes 3.
Once again Sarah Medlin's work rate was incredible inspiring her team to keep their heads up increasing the score every quarter.
Sarah is a superb confidence giver with any doubts left off court as to their ability to win under challenging circumstances. And her vote from the opposition as player of the match was so well deserved - her series of interceptions were the wow factor and her speed across the court second to none.
With Hannah Steadman injured and on the bench Deannah Jayne showed massive character stepping up as our GA. Her movement in the circle was a treat but it's Deannah's pure selflessness which has shone out for the team passing the ball to our GS Sophie Tucker to take full advantage proving the perfect back up but at the sametime racking up double figures herself.
Sophie Tucker kept a cool head in the knowledge that every one of her attempts at goal were crucial and she nailed it once again.
This was a sheer team effort, Nina Chun's accurate feeding into the circle made the attacking end difficult for St Agnes; Emily Enterman's vision to see GS Sophie Tucker in a position for the long ball was outstanding in addition to her vital intercepts.
Our defence duo of Megan Hampton and Ashley Hogg worked incredibly hard to keep the on-point St Agnes shooters away from the goal keeping their scoreline down.
The spirit of this team is incredible and it's going to be a hard second half of the season but whatever the final outcome the Pandas will come out stronger.
Thanks again to Jackie Walker our umpire and John and Jackie Carr for scoring and timing and for their incredible support. And thanks to St Agnes 3 for a great game and to their umpire Emily Smith.
