Pandas continue to hold lead at top of Division 4

The Pandas scored another convincing victory tonight clocking up a goal a minute to post a 64-27 win over Falmouth 2.

These girls were never in doubt - their set plays and teamwork paying off in dividends increasing their lead by a wider margin every quarter.

Teamwork is the key to the Pandas who have trained hard for their success - it was great to have Nina Chun back on court having left Greece at 4.30am this morning - a massive boost for the Pandas.

Having Nina back allowed our injured Sarah Medlin the chance to sit out for the first half with Emily Enterman again stepping up into the centre spot with another great performance.

But nothing will keep Sarah Medlin off that court and on she came for the final half with Emily reverting to wing defence.

There were some fabulous interceptions made by every player - so impressive to watch particularly our dynamo Deannah Jayne always there and so strong in attack and defence.

Deannah Jayne deservedly received Falmouth's seal of approval as their player of the match.

Again our shooters shone - what a great partnership Hannah Steadman and Sophie Tucker have formed and it's clear to see their telepathic connection. Hannah is so quick around the court always looking to feed Sophie the ball - and yes our Sophie's strike rate and sheer presence in the circle is so impressive.

Our defence has improved so much - it was great to see Megan Hampton aka Megatron making some excellent interceptions catching and holding onto the ball in a great working partnership with Ashley Hogg.

And not forgetting our super-sub Niki Bellenger who is such an asset to any team and is looking forward to her match for the Shoots next week.

A great start to the season for the Pandas maintaining a 100% strike rate in our opening four games.

But there's a long way to go and much to work on - but for now, let's enjoy the momentum and look forward to these girls resting up for three weeks recovering from illness and injury in time for their next match at home on November 11 against Lastonets Oceans.

Thanks again to all our supporters especially our fellow Shoots who play next Thursday at Ben Ainslie, Truro, against Falcons.

Our Panda fan club are second to none and really do inspire our players. And thanks to Falmouth for a good game and our umpire Jackie Walker along with opposition umpire Debbie Ashworth.

And of course the final piece of the jigsaw in the team - Jackie Carr and John for scoring and timekeeping.
